Sorry about my delay in accepting your request - I assumed once a request was made, it was automatically accepted. Doh!
Anyway, enjoy the TCG ride. I won't be able to make it out this week as my son is playing U18s at 11.30.
Happy trails
Nick

Hi Dale. Thanks for the guidance home on Saturday and taking the lane where angels fear to tread!
Gidday Dale
I have just joined the adelaide cyclists web community in order to find out a little info regarding a ride that I would like to do on the 18th Jan.
I want to attempt to ride from Gawler to Wool Bay and I would like to know if there is a safe route that I can take.
Pete Roberts recommended that I contact you because you have recently completed a similar trip.
I would also like to determine the distance between start and finish points?
I was considering a ride from Adelaide City to Wool Bay, but the heat and perhaps the terrain may be a little too much to cover in 1 day so I am therefore proposing a startpoint from Gawler.
I have attempted the Community Challenge ride in previous years but I need to be in Wool Bay on the evening of the TDU Stage 4 challenge and I sadly cannot participate in this years challenge; hence the reason for attempting this journey on the Wednesday (it will give me a day to recover!).
Riding from Gawler to Wool Bay might be a good personal challenge instead of the TDU this year.
Would you be able to assist me by providing some information both on the route and on any tips that may make for a safe journey?
Many thanks for any assistance offered
Ashleigh Fox said… Thanks Dale, may have to take you up on that offer. Hope you're keeping well, look forward to catching up in the not too distant future.
Ashleigh Fox said… Hey Dale,
Good to hear from you...I thought the guys would have let you know, I had to move to Melbourne for work. I had been meaning to get out for a final ride, but ran out of time with searching for a new property, packing, cleaning & everything else that had to be done!
Hope you're keeping well & leading the charge on those downhill runs - it looks like the group just keeps growing which is fantastic to see. I'm hoping I can bring the bike back over Xmas & come out for a ride or two.
Keep in touch.
Ash
