Born in Glenelg South Australia I grew up on the coast at Seacliff with my 3 brothers - involved in the beach life, surfing, swimming, boating and motorbike riding. Early on I took up yachting at Brighton and Seacliff Yacht club which lead to sailing “Tornado Catamarans” and winning major local races as well as sailling international Olympic trials in Australia. During this time I also became quite adept at sailboarding and still very much enjoy getting out on the board on freshwater lakes.
