The wind can be a great friend or a nasty foe. Riding over for the Barossa group ride yesterday morning, I had a nice 20 to 25kmh tail wind which helped nicely. One section which is a gradual uphill of 3% gradient for about 1.5 km's, I could average about 22kmh on the climb but a few hours later on the return leg, only 19kmh while going down the hill. By then it was a 37kmh head wind with 46kmh gusts. Damn that wind. Like I said, friend and foe!
