"That is right John.  Quite outrageous really.  Your genes become a source for Biotech profits and the consequence is they have a monopoly over any genetic testing with that gene.  For people with diseases like cancer this will lead to…"

"If a particular gene makes you pre-disposed to cancer (for instance) and this gene is patented, you cannot get screened for this gene's presence without paying whatever the owner of the patent demands. They can even stop you from being screened…"

"Cancer Voices SA" is an organisation of volunteers representing people affected by cancer - among other things we are seeking better treatment and care. We have a recreational cycling team as a way to raise awareness of cancer in the community and gain more supporters. Coast To Coast - the more riders in the Cancer Voices SA Team the more chance of receiving Funding against Cancer
