My latest creation

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 21:30 7 Comments

Had a few spare hours today waiting for a delivery from Stratco, I was a little bored and had a dirty chain. I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for some time and after a quick trip down to J-Car I came back with a little device, namely a motorised gearbox.

The rest is history.…

From concept to reality

Posted on January 5, 2012 at 21:00 17 Comments

Just over twelve months ago I had a brief conversation with Ashleigh Moore in regards to doing some type of promo design/ manufacture to help promote CVSA. I explained to Ash that I had this wizz bang CNC woodwork machine that I play with as my "other" hobby. Long story short the outcome was that he mentioned a bike rack design he had seen in a shop somewhere and I should have a go at designing / building something similar. Unfortunately my spare time over the ensuing months was sucked up…

Hi Alastair,

I hope you all had a great ride on Sunday, it turned out to be a beautiful day! I didn't make it - I need a 3 day weekend to get through my home chores :) spent Sunday harvesting olives from my olive tree: 37 kilos!

Maybe next time....

G'day Alastair,

I was told you are the man to ask about engravements on bike frames? I am building up a fixie from my oldish trek commuter bike, white and orange colour scheme. I want to personalise the frame with my nickname engraved or painted on the top tube, just near the seatpost. Just wondering if you are the man for the job, or know of someone who is.

Cheers, keep pedalling!

James

Hi Alastair.
I'm holding back from Amy ride. It had a great start along the southern express way but I have some unpleasant memories of argy-bargy on the roads out of Old Noarlunga. May change my mind at the last minute....still not totally decided on that ride. Willunga Hill?? phaahh, easy peasy!! any time.

Hi Alastair
Are you going on the grand slam this weekend?
At 23:44 on September 9, 2010, Peter Hill said…
sorry, I just read your commment in detail - 'Saturday morning', probably can do. Might have to keep it fairly short as I've got a lunch to get to. I think you said you go down belair/unley road to get to the city? perhaps could meet at the service station on the corner of unley and Cross road at about 7.30?

Hmmm Mt lofty...might be up for it. I have to check with Brian. I was going to do a reconnaissance trip with him for his Belair ride. If I don't hear from him in the next couple of days, the Big L. it is then.

Unfortunately I have quite the opposite scenario on Sunday. I have only a short morning as I have to be home by 10am. (hence the quick ride to tollgate bollards and home).
Defiately another time for a longer CVSA ride. I didn't see you at the Grandslam but I saw that you went. I met Peter Jenkins, Mark and a couple of other AC and CVSA people. They were great company.
Have a good ride. pete
