Just had a thought that this would possibly fit as a 1/2 time entertainment at the Roller Derby... has anyone considered joining forces for some mixed fun?

Thats pretty much a Melbourne style thing. At each intersection the bike lane turns into a box in front of the traffic lanes. Its a good safety idea to get cyclists seen at intersections but it will p!ss off some motorists. It should encourage what…

Ah, yes. Ian was telling me about his interview on RRR. The DJ who interviewed him is the girlfirend of one of the primary organisers of Melbourne Bike Polo and the dude who runs the urbancyclist.org website. But, the unicyclist in the picture is Mi…

Hello, I heard in a recent 'Along for the Ride - 3RRR podcast' an interview with Ian Pritchard who I am guessing is the unicyclist in this shot. Have a listen if you are interested.

P.S. I was also going to say in the group set-up you can have an RSS feed. With this you can take the RSS of your blogspot site and feed it in to the group so both are always updated.

Hi and thanks for joining Adelaide Cyclists. I am very excited you took up the offer to join. I think the more sites that help spread the word about interesting cycling related activities in Adelaide the better.

Thanks also for going in hard with the group. Let me know if there is anything you need help with. Can I suggest a few things. A good main group picture is an excellent way of attracting attention. I can feature it then. Get one under creative common from Flickr if you don't have one of your own. At the top of the group there is a box that you can write and embed anything in. I reckon a brief history of what you've been doing and bicycle polo in general would be good and the rules. You can embed a YouTube clip in there if you know a good one or upload a video to this site and it will offer you the embed code as well.

You can embed a Google Map of where the Adelaide matches are held and add the detail again when you play.

Every time a comment is made to the group the member will be emailed (unless you change the default email settings) so you can post results, pictures etc after every meet. Between the Polo group and the Adelaide FIxed group you should have everything covered.

In spring we are going to have a meet up of some kind. Initially just a beer with members but after that a 'co-production' with the Bicycle Institute of SA (BISA) in the form of a public event - most probably a swap meet and a few invited groups and businesses could show off things, maybe even a photography exhibition and competition. Polo would be a definite starter in my book.

Let me know if there is anything you want to know and hope to get to the next match.

Cheers
Angus

(I have an old frame I'm working on in the shed so I hope I can play sometime too!)
