At least he stopped and gave way to me. My Diahatsu has a better turning circle.

Comment by heather on May 11, 2012 at 23:22 At least he stopped. In the meantime, you are wondering if the driver / car will stop, or whether you need to hit the brakes hard. Another case of inconsiderate drivers and caught on camera.
Then another time and bicycle-vehicle incident, the cyclist will think the driver will stop and give way. But unfortunately only stop belatedly after the vehicle has hit the cyclist. Think doing such U-turns where other road users are 'embarrased' are discouraged under ARR. If so, you could report to the police Traffic Watch on 131 444.
SAPOL are now on Facebook where the public can comment. Do not know if this is an avenue for posting photographic evidence of such incidents and asking police to act. According to the media, the police Facebook is monitored during business hours and inappropriate posts removed. Is evidence of breaching ARR 'inappropriate' when the rego is readable? Or report to police by phone, with links to the photos.
Mmmm. Mental note - never ride with Trevor! Nice selection of pics. Having said that, I have to admit that I've seen it all and usually multiple times per ride in the city. That's why I usually head straight out of town if I can, or traverse across town as far as possible with the bike on the back of the car.
