Hello and are you ready for the Tour de France? This year is the centenary of the world's biggest single sporting event. Over the three weeks the site's chat room will be switched on from time to time so you can watch the greatest stages in the warmth of your lounge room in the company of some virtual fellow enthusiasts. There are also some other get togethers being organised. Read down to find out about them.
There is also a fantasy league to test your inner directeur sportif and enter your team. The VeloGames league details are here and SBS's Fantasy TdF are here.
Don't forget to invite friends, colleagues and co-riders to join the Adelaide Cyclists community - it's all about sharing!

Free seminar new insurance laws and cycling injuries
The overhaul of South Australia’s Compulsory Third Party laws has been pitched at motorists, but what about cyclists? You're invited to a free evening seminar by TGB Laywers on Wednesday, July 3, 5-30 pm.
The seminar aims to inform cyclists about injury compensation, the changes to the new laws and implications for cyclists, the new scale that determines what is a major injury and what is not. All your questions will be answered. Register now here to confirm your place. Find out more here and download the flyer here.
LE CLUB LUG: TOUR DE FRANCE NIGHT AT RED BERRY ESPRESSO

PLAY ALONG AT HOME WITH A FANTASY TEAM
Every grand tour we host a fantasy league competition. Join in and test your ability as a directeur sportif and enter your team. The VeloGames league details are here and SBS's Fantasy TdF are here.
CONGRATULATIONS to star cycles for 50 years in the business.
Fifty years is a long time to be in a career by anyone's books - it's half the life of the Tour de France - but to run a bike shop it's a sign of real dedication. Gary and his team welcome Adelaide Cyclists members with honest service, and experience, and special deals that you can find here or on their Facebook page.
EXPLORE INDONESIA BY BIKE
Cycle Indonesia are again offering a number of tours to Sulawesi and the island of Bali, with various dates starting in September this year. Led by Colin Freestone, Colin has been cycling in Indonesia since 1995. Since 2009 he's led 9 trips with 80+ riders to Sulawesi. Most of the riders who tour are 50+ and 40% are women. Over the years the tours have been enjoyed by many South Australians.
These trips are cultural immersion experiences through the countryside along quiet back roads, along the coast and around lakes. Swimming and waterfall sitting is available most days and optional daily yoga session. Support vehicles with English speaking drivers. A bike mechanic and bike hire are available.

Andrew Vogler is an accredited sports scientist and operator of a sports physiology practice Adelaide Human Performance. He has taken the time to write some really informative blog posts about heart rate, training and power meters. The first post is about about age-related norms for maximum heart rate (HRmax) and the second, a follow-up of sorts, about the difference between training with a power meter or heart rate.
Personally I got a lot out of reading them and I thank Andrew for taking the time to write them. He has offered Adelaide Cyclists members a 10% discount on testing at Adelaide Human Performance. If you are looking for an edge in your training, or want to know your true Vo2max, contact Andrew on 8340 0572.
Steven Ellison is our regular blogger. Follow his training plan and read about what Strava PRs he’s knocked off this week.
