Information

The Muddies

A road cycling group based in the southern suburbs. Social/training rides will be held on alternate Saturday mornings  starting from various locations, see the "Events" section of this site for details of the next ride.

All riders with sufficient fitness to tackle the undulations and hills of the Fleurieu peninsula and Adelaide hills are welcome.

Riders ride at their own risk of injury or bicycle damage and are strongly advised to have some form of cycle specific insurance.

A tail end Charlie will usually be appointed on each ride to ensure no one gets left behind.

I only have mid compact, but all the recent riding I have been doing was on 25, so 28 will feel easy.

Hey Leigh , want to lend me that 30 cassette ?

Has anyone done a map of the proposed route?  (or did I miss it?)

I'm still tossing up Amy's v Muddies but I have to be at Adelaide Arena, Findon, for the 36'ers game at 1.30pm

Yeah Nortons may be the longest hill on Sunday, but there are going to be a couple of much shorter, but tougher climbs (in my opinion).

Burdetts, Lobethal Rd climb (both directions) and Fox Creek are all beautiful hills, but will test your legs!  Between 1.5km and 2km each of them at an average of around 7-8%.

28 compact gearing FTW!

They are both climbing wheels at the moment, they both have 28.

I must admit going up Willunga I was glad I changed it to a 28

Put your climbing wheels on Paul.

Leigh I don't really have a new bike its an urban myth to frighten you :-p

I am looking forward to the ride on some new roads, hope I don't get lost, I hope I can PR norton's again.  Never ridden to Lobie before

Leigh just doesn't want to ride with me anymore :-p He is scared of my new bike, LOL.

Amy's is a nice ride tho Leigh, plenty of room on the road for the numbers involved, at least this year isn't going to be hot like last year.

What Matt said. I know we can ride most of Amy's route every weekend, but it's not every weekend you get road closures on SExy, Willunga and Wickhams (woot) and the chance to ride with 3000 others.
