The Muddies

A road cycling group based in the southern suburbs. Social/training rides will be held on alternate Saturday mornings  starting from various locations, see the "Events" section of this site for details of the next ride.

All riders with sufficient fitness to tackle the undulations and hills of the Fleurieu peninsula and Adelaide hills are welcome.

Riders ride at their own risk of injury or bicycle damage and are strongly advised to have some form of cycle specific insurance.

A tail end Charlie will usually be appointed on each ride to ensure no one gets left behind.

given the unofficial nature of the event this weekend, the pace will be largely dictated by those who attend, and given i'm the one making all the noise at the moment, its hardly likely to be too hot ;-).  i just put the word out on the muddies page as it was the muddies week to ride.

a nice scenic shady ride sounds good Gill.  are you riding?  at the moment it looks like myself, Paul and Rene will be in.  i'll be up for a nice early start to beat the heat.

@ Gillian, I have never been Muddy material, I am like a groupie trying to hang on their coat tails ;-)

I'm heat hopeless and still not Muddy material. Rode in similar conditions last Sat and can recommend Humpty/Clarendon/Blewitt Sp regions as they are fairly shady and reasonably pleasant early morning. Not sure about debris at the moment though. Hopefully car traffic will have sorted that out by Saturday.

Yes Rob I should be available for a ride, as originally planned a lazy 130 but it will be too hot for that as I am soft in the heat....

So, anyone up for an official or unofficial muddies ride on Saturday?  Lofty? Norton? Mvale via clarendon?

I would of thought 12 to be a fair estimate Shane

More climbing than Amy's - that's good  :-)

If the start is at 8am I am guessing there should be no problem being back at RBE by 12, if not earlier.

I only have mid compact, but all the recent riding I have been doing was on 25, so 28 will feel easy.
