And for your reading pleasure, Adam's report has now been syndicated on the Climbing Cyclists's website http://theclimbingcyclist.com/guest-post-the-inaugural-adelaide-dir...

@Dahondude - yeah I had a "play" with some options based out of Mylor (Magic Mylor Madness?) and you could definitely get a dozen climbs, but probably not of the severity of the Dirty Dozen route.  A couple of them would be difficult, but overall not at the same level.

Also some hills based out of Clarendon as well...but same as above.

Perhaps an option for Autumn?

The Dastardly Dozen?

Comment by Dahondude on September 3, 2012 at 21:47

Was thinking about other parts of Adelaide where you might be able to string 13 hellishly steep climbs together. Belair/IronBank/Stirling area has a couple that spring to mind...Sheoak Rd, Saddle Hill Rd, Ayers Hill Rd, Pole Rd, Morgan Rd, Ironbank Rd, Red Hill Rd, Brown Rd, Woolcock Rd, and there are a few roads between Longwood Rd and Aldgate that are stupidly steep but I cant remember their names, Pine St in Stirling, Ackland Hill Rd. Most of them are pretty short climbs, unlike the original version, but some definite pain and suffering in there!

looking forward to 2013 as long it doesn't clash with the timing of the state masters RR

Please note discussion above regarding confirmation of the inaugural list of Dirty Dozen Legends.  I need your help urgently to confirm whether you - or someone you know - completed ALL 13 climbs.  And I need you to confirm that I have spelled your name correctly.  Thanks.

Sorry Torsten, I forgot to thank you for the bananas. That was very generous of you.

I'd like to congratulate Adam on putting together a fantastic event today. Thanks to him and Spartacus and the photographers for putting in the effort for such a well run event. Thanks also to all of my fellow cyclists who participated and made it such a success. Sadly I managed only a Nasty Nine before my lack of preparation beat me into submission, but a huge pat on the back to those that finished. You are all legends! Think I'll start training for next year tomorrow :)

Thanks Torsten.

Hey everyone - Torsten is just about already a Legend!  13kg of bananas kindly donated for you all to charge up on during the ride.  Don't forget to thank him for that tomorrow!
