Hi,the Workshop is now  set up, with tools, spares,  4 bikes for people to work on, and tea/coffee making facilities. On Saturday a dozen people showed up  -  we changed a sprocket wheel, fixed broken spokes, shortened a chain, and did most of that with parts salvaged from other bikes. Address is 34 Long Street, Plympton -  at the community centre, kind of opposite Plympton Primary School. Go round the back of the hall. We have a room at the back of the hall. Currently unmarked, so just come…Continue

Looking forward to finally officially opening the community bicycle workshop tomorrow night (Friday 24 Nov). All welcome. We are putting on some food and drink and have some official guests to open the workshop. If you have not been in to see the set-up it's a great chance to. We've got lots of great tools and it's a really great space with loads of potential for growth.

We're also looking for more people to get involved in the workshop - either hands on or behind the scenes.

See you tomorrow from 6pm at 34 Long St Plympton. It's just near the Anzac Hwy and Marion Rd intersection and just off the Westside bikeway.

Hi Tony - yes there is a wheel truing jig at the workshop - we are open Sat morning 9-12 if you want to drop in.

Is there a truing jig in the workshop?

I got smacked by a car and this incident has not only thrown me out of alignment but the rear wheel of my commuter.

Time will heal me but a spoke spanner and some know-how needs to  be applied to the MTB

Are you fine folks opening up at Saturday morning (10/09)? Got a crank arm or two I could use some advice on.

Mike has posted a wrap up of last weekend's activity down at Plympton. It's getting busy!
