Wednesday Morning OhMyGod it's Early

Wednesday Morning OhMyGod it's Early - mid week hump day ride.

Suits Norton Summit climbers (5.6kms) of 20 - 24mins. We ride up to Norton Summit, along the Lobethal Rd taking the Marble Hill Rd to Marble Hill and descend Montacute Rd. Other routes after Norton Summit are occasionally proposed.

Learn to love the AM and have a glow of smugness for the rest of the day (while your feel thaw out) from your early morning achievement (getting out of bed) and for what you enjoyed - sunrise, koalas and your bike. It just gives you more motivation when you know someone will be there waiting.

Must be up for a chat and have good lights and alarm clock.

Drop an RSVP in the form of a comment if you will be joining us, or just turn up.

Meet: Tower Hotel, Magill for 6am

Only three of us out this morning, Tom, Nigel and myself. Actually we were the only three bikes that I saw until after Norton Summit which is unusual. Despite the early morning rain, it was quite nice for a ride, no wind, no rain and no fog! Nigel returned back down from Norton, Tom did Lofty and I rolled over to Montacute.
Bit early for a WOMGiE sunrise photo today.

Lorraine, let me know when you're going to do this one and I'll make sure I'm there with you :-)

Please make it a dry day though, I'm a huge pansy.

I won't riding tomorrow. I can't shake these ills.

If you ride, and the rain stays away, have fun and stay safe.

Wet = me out.  Have fun and hopefully next week will be nice.

@Tim B, thanks for that! It's always a little nerve racking joining in and doing something for the first time (especially when I don't really know many of you in the group!!

@Lorraine, the ride to Norton is around 30 minutes or just under, and then 15 - 20 minutes straight back down again depending on how you go. A few just do Norton's, but that depends on who goes on the day

If you continue on over to Marble Hill and Montacute its approx another 35 minutes (with a nice sunrise) to suburbia in Rostrevor and if you completed the loop down Montacute and up St Bernards to Magill rd and the Tower Hotel (if you drove) probably another 10 - 15 minutes.

I'm usually out the door at 5:45 and back home again by 7:15 (I live in Rostrevor)

There are plenty of people who just do Norton's and return. Will confirm if we're in later today.

Another early start at work tomorrow so I'm out. I hope to make it next week as I have the morning off. Can anyone tell me approx how much time I need to allow for this ride? (I've never been up to Norton Summit before). Does anyone just do Nortons then return?

With a bit of luck I will also be there, I say that almost every week however & something always seems to balls it up. Fingers crossed the rain holds off.

Rest day in the tour means I should get to bed early enough to see you all out there tomorrow (weather permitting).
