It looks very much like a vote is called for to settle the name of the group.
After looking through the voluminous thread that is the 'Jersey Discussion' there are four names to vote on. Please note I have picked these on the feedback received both in person and on the thread mentioned above :
METHOD OF VOTING
Each name will have its own thread within this discussion.
All you have to do is reply with '+1' to the name that you like the most.
Only the 78 people that are currently members of SSRC can vote.
There is one vote each.
The name with the most votes gets the Jersey!
The discussion will close next FRIDAY, 10th February 2012 at 5pm.
Please limit your responses to '+1' only, no further discussion is required on this thread.
In the case of a tie there will be a second 'tie-breaker' vote with only the tied names to be considered.
The reason for this vote is essentially to agree on what is going to go onto a group jersey and as it has been identified as a desired item for this group.
PM me if you have any issues with this.

Hi Colin. Pat has been consulted prior to this vote going up.
I shouldn't have nor do I want a final say, majority vote rules.
Jim started the Muddies and is no longer an AC member in fact he's pissed off many an AC member along the way and I'm surprised (and pleased) at the support for the Muddies name from a couple of riders. Jim was instrumental in getting me into group riding and pushing myself along the veloway and roads of the southern vales, that's the main reason I voted for the name. I thought that might be a reason some wouldn't vote for it. It may not mean much to newer riders but then does Bastardi Grassi, Fat Boys or Cobwebs mean anything to those outside of the "loop" in those groups.
Apologies to Wattsy for posting a discussion in the thread, blame Gill. :)
As I haven't actually ridden with the new group I'm abstaining from the vote but the Murray Bridge summer season is almost over so watch out.
The votes are in and the decision has been made. From 31 (inc. one abstension) votes of a possible 78 the tally is as follows:
Southern Cranks - 2
The Muddies - 18
Southern Spinners - 5
Souther Suburbs Road Cyclists - 5
This group shall be called 'The Muddies' from now on!
Now... all we need to organise is a big jersey design party (BYO weapons) at Gillians house.
