Spartans

We are Spartans.

The entry level to be a Spartan is to ride to Mt Lofty. We just Spartan up and keep going. Nothing stops us, except perhaps our partners asking us to stay home and mind the kids. But that's about it.

Morning Toblerone,

I'll give you a call when I'm out next: most probably next Saturday morning. I was riding slow on Sunday at only 16kph. Hope you won't be bored.

Love the Tour, but I keep falling asleep early.

Cheers,

Frank

Hi Frank,

Good to see you are making progress.  Whenever you feel like a ride, however small, let me know.  I'll even ride to you mate.

Have you been staying up and watching the tour?  It's been exciting.  I have been able to watch it on night shift from the computer.

Speak soon.

Regards,

Toblerone

Thanks Maximus,

See you at the summit sometime!

Hi Frank

I can sympathise. After not riding for a while, there is no way I would get up to the summit.

We will need to slowly get back into the riding and hopefully we will meet at the summit in a few months time.

Thanks Trent.

It's difficult to see all the cyclists on the road and not being able to ride.
I think that I have very poor fitness now and there is no strength in my right leg. I'm getting better and there is not that long to go!

Great to hear your recovery is going well Frank! Look forward to seeing another Spartans ride posted soon.

Hello Spartans, hope you are all well.
Sorry that I haven't organised any rides since our last ride in January.
My plan was to have a Mt Lofty ride once every month, but I had injured my knee quite badly and that January ride to Lofty was my last ride in the hills.

So, I haven't been riding or running for about 6 months and I must say it was driving me crazy.  But I went for a very slow, short, gentle ride yesterday and my knee felt good.  It was great to be on the bike again.

I need to take it slow and I think that Lofty is still a couple of months away for me.
Sorry for not posting anything earlier about this. I don't know why I haven't.

Hopefully I'll see you on the road soon.

‎2 days in bed with migranes, little sleep for 3 days, injuries to toe/arm/groin, visit to the Doc Saturday afternoon but I was crazy enough to get on the bike to ride up to Mt Lofty in the Velo Adelaide. Dispite pain, nausea, cramps, uphills, strong cold headwinds, I made it to the summit. Hardest (and stupidest) thing I've ever done.

Great to meet you all yesterday Gentlemen. I just love the hills.

Sorry that I wasn't able to ride back with you all.  Next time.
