Welcome to Velogames' Fantasy Giro d'Italia 2013!Is everyone going to gang up on Wiggo, and smash him into oblivion, or is his "marginal gains" (read AICAR) going to lose him so much weight he will literally be blown up the hill without pedalling? Can Hesjedal repeat, will Cadel make up for 2002, will Scarponi really win (not because of DSQ), was Nibali's move to Astana going to net him the trophy? Or will they all be watching each other, and let Gesink ride off into the distance??How many…Continue

SNAP POLL- How Good Is Peter Sagan??

And don't give me nice words like ''very'' good.. Put a number on it-How many victories will Sagan get this year?and a supplementary question:How many for Cav?Sagan is already on 3 victories, and has all 4 of Cannondale's podium spots for the year. Cav has 6 wins already, and should have a monster year with the power of OPQ behind him (or in front of him as the case may be)I'll use Cycling Quotient  as the arbiter of bragging rights at the…Continue

I love watching Voeckler ride. I dunno if he's a nice person - I don't really care because he's aggressive, he's daring, and wears his emotions on his sleeve and his tongue on his chin.

Dear God I hope he's clean.

some interesting info on Team Sky and why Wiggins did so well in Stage 11

Agree. I thought bmc were hyped up to be a better team than last year. hincapie is getting on, van garderen doesn't have the legs and berhardt is in my opinion not good enough. looks like sky have done their homework and are slowly breaking bmc down.

Yeah Cadel will/Should be stronger in the real mountain stages but he needs to attack and break them. Sky want a consistent pace where as Cadel can attack like the Schlecks in a stop start rhythm and go over the top of them but there is no one in BMC that can tag team with Cadel let alone keep up with him and that will be what will let him down. He was isolated much of last years race but flew a little under the radar with other teams, this year everyone is watching him. The thing he needs is a Porte or Rogers on his team which unfortunately he doesnt. Nibbles, Menchov etc will only go with him in the next couple of stages, after that it is about them saving their own positions, not looking to necessarily move up.

I have that feeling too Trent. last night he was a marked man. every move cadel made was quickly countered by sky. its gonna take bmc to gang up with liquigas and perhaps radio shack to crack team sky together. Leaving sky to dominate the whole race will make it harder. although wearing them out sooner is cadels plan.

Im starting to think that BMC have been a bit complacent coming in to this years tour and have underestimated Wiggins and Sky. Just looks to me a bit like BMC just expected to roll up and win the thing whereas SKY have had a definite plan right from the start. Tonight's stage will be make or break for Cadel IMHO.

I definitely reckon this year is a doozy for most big named riders. Seeing Sammy Sanchez get pummeled from behind last night and left with a broken clavicle raised my eyebrows. Hesjedal out as well. Cav barely hanging in there with his recent fall. It's blown some of the favorites wide out. Seeing Sagan dominate on debut is definitely a highlight too.

Is it just me or are the riders looking a lot more like mere mortals these days? Guys are getting shelled out the back on Cat1 and 2 climbs, will be interesting to see what happens when they actually hit the mountains, but certainly no team leaders being launched into orbit like the good ol days.

This year is a real tester for Cadel. It's still early days. Still have the Pyrennes to go and this is where Cadel is stronger than Wiggins as well as the descents. Thats the key, minimizing the damage Wiggins does in the ITT is crucial.

Tonights stage will be a tracker with the ITT. Wiggins expecting to increase his overall GC lead as he rode really well in the Dauphine. Really hoping that Cadel can peg back a few seconds. Needs to close the gap a bit here because he isnt riding against a Schleck this year!
