Peter Sagan won 5 stages of the Tour of California including this mornings final stage and he's only just 23.

Will he ride the Tour de France? If he does will he be a serious challenge to Cav? Apparently he can climb well too which might not see him winning any mountain top finishes but will get in before the time cut off. In his broken English in the after race interview when asked he said "yes, I, I, I, I do it. and I I I do it good".

According to some (?)

But at such a young age it's really anyone's guess as to what kind of rider he'll eventually become (some are already comparing him to Eddy Merckx, widely considered the greatest cyclist ever).

I've had him pegged as a potential classics specialist, probably more like a Boonen, Flecha or Freire type, so I was surprised that he won so many sprints in AToC. With form like this I hope he rides the TdF- I think he'd always come off second best one-out against Cav, but he'll certainly be useful in those tough medium-mountain stages that are usually too lumpy for the pure speedsters.

Not only will he ride the TdF I reckon e will either win the Green jersey or come in second to Griepel. Cavendish will pull out after winning 5 Stages to concentrate on winning the Olympics road race, which he will win, of course. He did show that he is beatable when his lead-out team become 'tired', as they did the other night in the Giro and he was beaten by the Lantern Rouge, Andrea Guardini. who is younger than Sagen. I don;t mind if Cavendish doesn't win another race, he is a sore loser !
