My turn to kick a disucssion off. Haussler sees himself on the podium for MSR. He also thinks Cav won't be at the end. In other news Hushovd and Sylvain Chavanel are out.
It's long, it has a tunnel who will win?

Haussler has steady form without shooting the lights out and will be thereabouts. GE are really talking up Gossys chances but i think that they will be limited. They do however have a team that can sit on the front of the pack for an extended period. Ballan (BMC) is a dark horse as is Boonan but i think the race is a little long for him.
my pick for the winner is the man with ALL the form at the moment..........Fabian Cancellara
Permalink Reply by Gemma K on March 16, 2012 at 15:57 I odn't reckon Cav will be there at the end either, the finish is too punchy.
My bet is Cipollini will be there at the end, especially oily and with a women on each arm. In the corporate box of course ;-)

As it is a loooong race, lots of ways to win it and lose it, anything and everything happens, and every type of cyclist gives it a red hot poke - so a multiple of scenarios are possible:
Cavendish is unbackable favourite in a big bunch kick, then Greipel and Boonen.
If there is a selection of roulers - Van Avermaet, Cancellara, Boasson Hagen.
If the grimpeurs get up - Nibali, Gerrans, Cunego.
Simon Gerrans wins!!!!!!!!!!!!
2nd Cancellara, 3rd Nibali
Awesome ride by Gerro, sat on Cancellara defending Goss' leadership (never going to happen seeing he was struggling up the Poggio, almost off the back), and Nibbles was clearly knackered, because he was never on the front, and didn't really sprint.

Cycling Tips posted this really good video of the course highlights hosted by Erik Zabel (and he can still ride!). What SA time is it on?
