Simple Studio Setup

I'd like to photograph a couple of bikes I've been fixing up, and want to do something better than the lean it against a wall shot.Specifically, I want a  white (255,255,255) infinity background - ie standard catalogue shot. Easy if I had a studio,…Continue

I am contemplating buying a mountable sports cam, and was wondering what the minimum requrements are in terms of resolution, frame rate, memory card size, battery life, etc.I don't know that I am going to be any good at it, or anybody will want to…Continue

practice for race photography

Started by snappy_don Dec 22, 2010. 0 Replies

Last night I thought I'd have a practice hit-out with the camera before trying to snap the TDU. It was a bit of fun, although obviously mooching around Victoria Park with complete freedom, no barriers, and no crowd, is nothing like the conditions…Continue

You've shamed me into adding a couple, one from the Australian Championships and one from the Worlds.

Great shot.

You've reminded me I wanted to share a local guy's blog - http://superflat.com.au/ he takes photos in the early morning of riders on the Old Freeway and Norton Summit. He's got a good eye and nice style.

It's been a bit quiet here so here's a photo I took at the National Track Championships.

I'd forgotten about this group until craig joined, my bad :-( I should have posted a pointer to the photos I'd been taking at the PACC track nights here so better late than never.

Angus

Photography is like bike riding. Talking about it is good, but doing it is better.

I suggest one method is to save a few pictures from books or mags that you'd like to emulate, then set about matching that style and learn from your mistakes.

Stand me a beer or a coffee, and I'm always happy to chat about your results or questions. I have shelves full of books. You're welcome to drop in, browse and borrow what interests you.

best tip, use manual settings. The auto will almost always invoke a flash if it isn't bright. If you want a quick run through of the controls on that one let me know.
