Ok fella's and ladies, I said that I had a cunning plan and my cunning plan worked. In the heat of today slaving over a hot CNC in a hot shed I finished my Garmin lug replacement device. It works remarkably well for the first iteration with only a little bit of play left to right but very secure overall.

Permalink Reply by Rob (Chewbacca) on February 25, 2012 at 16:56 I have read in the forums about the mount breaking on the Garmin 705 model but not too many complaints about the Garmin 500....nice fix Alistair....did it break within the 2 year warranty period and would such a breakage be covered. Definitely looks a better fix than wire ties or duct tape :)
