Started by Tim B on Wednesday. 0 Replies

Not sure how many of you know how to do this, but at times it may be useful to backup your Edge 500 to keep your data safe (not ride data but personal data, device settings etc) in case you may need to reset or replace your Edge 500, you can get the new one back to being like your old one easily. This is copied directly from Garmin Support....How can I back up my personal settings and profiles on my Edge 500?Certain circumstances may arise where you will want to save your settings, profiles, and…Continue

It keeps coming up with 'this accessory is not recognised'I have replaced the drivers and have tested the connection with my old Edge 705 which works fine.  I have even tried 9 different cables.I am really thinking I am going to have to send it off to get it repaired (or swapped which is their normal method)Continue

Garmin lug breakage fix

Started by Alastair (A-Man) Dowler. Last reply by Matt Jones Feb 25. 5 Replies

Ok fella's and ladies, I said that I had a cunning plan and my cunning plan worked. In the heat of today slaving over a hot CNC in a hot shed I finished my Garmin lug replacement device. It works remarkably well for the first iteration with only a little bit of play left to right but very secure overall.Continue

Not sure it would leave it any more exposed than on top of the stem, maybe even less exposed, it would be protected by the front wheel in frontal impacts and the hoods in the event the bike flips

as long you got bike insurance Adam, it should be covered

Comment by Adam Brown on May 9, 2012 at 13:53

Only thing I'd be concerned about Rob is that it leaves the Garmin quite exposed in the event of a crash.

Top riders at Team Garmin-Barracuda using new stem that integrates Garmin into the stem, I WANT ONE NOW

Matt. it sounds like time to change the battery in your HR strap. That's one of the symptoms. It's recommended to change it once a year. It won't be jersey flap. That causes anomolously high (not intermittent or low) HR readings.

I don't think so, just regular tops that I have been wearing for a long time...

interference from a particular jersey?

Comment by Matt Wilson on April 19, 2012 at 20:17

Yesterday and today my heart rate is measuring quite intermittently on the Edge 500. This in turn means that the calorie count is really low compared to my regular commutes. Anyone experienced this before and have any tips on how to fix?
