Read any good cycling books lately?
Let everyone know what books you recommend (or suggest staying away from). Suggestions that generate good interest I will attempt to find and make available through the Adelaide Cyclists Book Shop.
Search for books on Fishbowl.com.au. Purchases via Fishbowl earn a little bit of the cover price to help this site.

Comment by Gus K on January 27, 2012 at 8:43 Hello book lovers. If you are seeking a high quality cycling reportage magazine - Rouleur has a bargain at the moment. Free shipping.
Order any number of Rouleur issues before the end of February and they will be absolutely postage-free, which is a treat. Even if you order other items at the same time – like the latest annual, for instance – the magazines will be sent without additional postage charges. Stop Your Messing Around and save a few quid…

Here is an interesting question. Of all they sports why are there more books about cycling than any other sport?
Comment by Purple-crowned Lorikeet on December 10, 2011 at 13:08 For touring books, two must-read classics are Dervla Murphy's Full Tilt (riding from Dublin to Delhi in the 60s) and the Crane Brothers' Journey to the Centre of the Earth (These guys are the ultimate weight weenies - they certainly go overboard at times. They ride to the point on the earth they estimate is the furthest from ocean). Full Tilt is absolutely my favourite book about cycling.
For bike racing books - Major by Todd Balf is a great read about an African American cyclist at the end of the 1800s. From memory he ended up in a world championship race in Adelaide - though its a few years since I've read it so my memory is a little hazy.
Comment by Troy Collett on November 8, 2011 at 11:41 Anyone read One way road yet? or David millars book?
Comment by Gus K on October 4, 2011 at 16:54 Quick poll. Rouleur is a British cycling magazine - not your usual how to descend fast and reviews magazine but a really stylish read with excellent photography and writing from some of cycling's best writers. It is not available locally and the price from the UK is about $30.
Would you buy it locally either from a local bike shop or mail order if you could? The cover price would be about $20.

due out early October 2011 is Robbie McEwen's autobiography - "One Way Road" :)
