Cyclist injured – Police seeking truck driver

Police hope the public can help them find the driver of a truck involved in a crash that injured a cyclist at Ovingham.

A white truck and a cyclist collided at the intersection of Hawker St, Park Tce and War Memorial Drive about 9.30am on Wednesday 3 August.

It is believed the truck stopped and the driver had a short conversation with the cyclist.

The truck was towing a trailer with what appeared to be a wheelbarrow attached vertically to the back.

Anyone with information should contact BankSA Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Comment by heather on October 17, 2010 at 20:25: Prospect Council and the State Government are in the process of 'upgrading' arterial and freight route Churchill Road. Is this the next freight route where a cyclist will die? Please help me to stop this 'upgrade' now.
Photos include:
– Trucks in convoy on the 'before' / eastern side.
– The 'after' / western side. Indented parking bays are visible in the recently extended footpath. Near the new kerb is the white line that remains of the bicycle lane. With the road being narrowed, would you cycle here?

Comment by heather on March 20, 2010 at 19:16: With your welcome to cyclists who travel or visit the area, I will join. I live at Prospect, and sometimes travel down the hill to Port Road and nearby. Charles Sturt is one of the areas where I report cycling & pedestrian hazards, plus graffiti.
