new racks at Town Hall
I have uploaded two photos of the new racks at the TH. I quite like them, aesthetically, and they work OK for my bike ( so far) but I wonder how much they cost, and if the money could be better spent.I think I have been saying that for years now, after each successive wave of new and more expensive styles in racks hits the metro area

Nice photos.
It's a good comment as to whether they are value for money. I guess the councils try to justify them as "public art" as well as a utilitarian bicycle rack - hope that nice shiny paint lasts then ;)

Unfortunately the new colourful bicycle parking meets neither Australian Standards nor Austroads. Am currently in discussions with Prospect Council over this. What will be the outcome? The colourful rails replaced "tried and tested" grey metal rails that did not the regulations.
