The aim of the the Adelaide Community Bicycle Workshop (co-op), which is supported by the Bicycle Institute of SA, is to operate as a community bicycle workshop co-operative dedicated to the repairing, and recycling, of bicycles. Read more...


Where: Plympton Community Centre, 34 Long Street, Plympton.

Currently it is open every Saturday morning from 9am - 12pm. We are looking for more volunteers who want to get involved and open it at other times.

Getting things started.

Hi,the Workshop is now  set up, with tools, spares,  4 bikes for people to work on, and tea/coffee making facilities. On Saturday a dozen people showed up  -  we changed a sprocket wheel, fixed broken spokes, shortened a chain, and did most of that with parts salvaged from other bikes. Address is 34 Long Street, Plympton -  at the community centre, kind of opposite Plympton Primary School. OK.. we are nearly there. Jeremy Miller has been following up a few loose ends like getting a first aid kit and some other little OH&S requirements from the council. We have also been investigating getting a small shipping container on the site so we can store some extra bikes and parts. If you know of one going let us know because it seems the small ones are hard to come by. Hello.. if anyone is around the workshop site (cnr Franklin and Elizabeth Sts CBD) Friday 30 at 2:45pm and you are on your bike and want to be in a photo the Messenger wants to take a photo for next weeks paper.
