SATURDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER!!!!  LOCK IT IN!

Hopefully this can become the first of the annual spring classics in Adelaide - held on the first Saturday in September annually....(nothing wrong with a bit of grandiose thinking?).

I'll set up an event page tomorrow - much easier for me to do that at work.  My home computer set up is crap...

Also - did a reccie in my car this morning to compare the strava GPS readings with that on 'Ride with GPS'.  Strava came back with about 3152m vertical, but I overshot a corner once which added on at least 50m vertical - so I am thinking Strava will show around 3100m - still over the 3000m vertical.  Took me over 2 hours to drive it!  It will be a massive slog on the day...  Funny to receive messages from local Strava legends like Jeffrey Schulz wondering why I took out 5 of his KOMs in a single hit.  All wiped now buddy!!!

It has also made me think that I can possibly swap a couple of the climbs around to compact the overall length without impacting on the total climbing height, so I might play with that a bit tomorrow too.

Starting to get pumped now already!

@RD6 ..this would be but a mere pootle for you wouldn't it!!??  ;)

@ Boz..  wanna swap cranks and cassette?

looking forward to having a crack at this - looks I the only person who already runs compacts and 11-28's - Was thinking of changing them, no need now apparently :-)

@ Pete..yeah I've passed that moment of madness where by I thought I'd get a $600 crank purchase pass the wife...it was never going to get up. ;)  I'm going to check out Pats compact 105 which will be a good chance for me to experience a compact without spending a fortune. :)

'ish' Pat consistentish..  ;)  wheels now match too...at last.

@ Richard,  I'm currently running Standard 53-39 Cranks (Rotor 3D crank arms BBRight), and am happy with this for the majority of my riding.

I have had a quick search on Google for the compact version, and it's around $750. I will have a chat with Steve down at Corsa Cycles about my options this week, and see what ideas he come up with.

If I say it quick, $750 still sounds expensive, and a lot to ease the pain of a single ride.

I suppose I could always ride my cyclocross, which runs a Triple...

Consistent. You've been riding with different sized  wheels for the last few weeks :)

My groupset was black. I sold everything else except the crankset and cassette. From memory there are a few scuff marks on the cranks from shoes rubbing but chain-rings are OK
