Why can't we legally ride in the Adelaide Hills? Why is it so hard to over come the prejudice? Why is the idea of sharing trails so hard for some people to understand? Why is sharing trails in Europe and America so much easier and collabrative? Why do a minority of people control the will of so many?
Why will the Adelaide Hills be so different in 20 years time? Because you can't stop progress - GO RIDE!
Spread the word, its coming......

Has anyone been around the kersbrook horse trail(also known as Devils Gully) lately any idea what the track is like? I was up there about 9 months ago and the singletrack to the city side of one tree hill kersbrook road was all pretty overgrown unused and washed out. I am planning on going up on friday so wondering if anyone has checked it out recently.

Hi Ray,

With Adelaide being what it is you may find that getting into a regular group isn't easy. The Adelaide Mountain Bike Club will be starting social rides in the near future so keep you eye out for them. You can subscribe to Club News on their Home Page. Another easy way to keep up to date with Club activities is the Facebook page.

The Adelaide Mountain Bike Club web site also has a Trails Index that is a good place to start when looking for places to ride. If you are looking at starting easy I'd suggest the top of Eagle Park (enter from Hillcrest Ave Crafers) noting that the gate will be closed on total fire ban days. Fox Ck is another great location with a good variety of trails.

Hi everyone - I'm new to this site.

I am looking to join a group of mountain bike riders. I have been out of the activity for 10 years and want to get back into it. I was wondering if your group goes out on rides and I might be able to join you and learn where the tracks are and ease back into it. I guess I would be leaning towards "recreational" and not too hard to start with. I am retired and are available most days.

Kind Regards - Ray Kairl.

The 2010 Australian Mountain Bike Championships has launched their new website.

They are also looking for volunteers.

Volunteers are the most important part in the successful running of Bicycle SA's events. In the run up to the SRAM Australian Mountain Bike Championships, Bicycle SA has agreed to help look out for more volunteers to help at the SRAM Australian Mountain Bike Championships. We will be also looking for volunteers for our KONA Dirty Dozen Event on the night of Saturday 16 january, in the midst of it all happening! If you're keen to lend a helping hand, contact Maureen Merrick at or 08 8168 9999.

For the SRAM Australian Mountainbike Champs, 300 volunteers are required to help make the series even more of a success than ever before and we want you to be a part of our team. Along with a t-shirt and a whistle, you will receive:

A volunteer pack
Many new friends
The feeling of accomplishment
May get on the telly
Learn a lot about an extreme adventure sport.
