I'm a candidate for the Parks ward in the Port Adelaide Enfield Council and am a big believer in keeping active and enjoying the great outdoors. Our council area is continually upgrading to make roads and tracks more cyclist friendly. I support this growth and hope for bigger plans, in the future, linking the esplanades together and creating safer environments for cyclists, on our roads.

Wow. That does look great! Certainly something I'd be interested in supporting! Thanks for sharing.
I hope if you're elected you'll support Port Adelaide Enfield Council repairing the Hanson Reserve Velodrome so the local cycling clubs can return to racing and training there. It's a shame that it has been left to fall into such a state due to a straight out council-balls-up!

Absolutely. It's such a unique space, which certainly encourages greater wellbeing for our local community!
That's a fair comment, Sam. I have read the strategy. My comment is referring to the fact that I do support the upgrade of the velodrome and if elected into council I will look into ways we can support it. I have not done any detailed research as yet, as I am restricted until members have been elected. Thank you for your comment. I do appreciate concerned community members ensuring council members don't just provide lip service!
I have inquired regarding the velodrome and as to whether it is state or council's responsibility. The state say that it was handed back to the council therefore I will add this to my list of needs to address at an upcoming council meeting.
I will keep you posted on the progress.
Claire, I am happy to give you a full briefing from the sport's perspective whenever you're ready!

Great. Thanks very much. Is this something that can be done via email or is it best, face to face?
Congratulations on your election!
Thank you very much. I'm excited about the role and the support I can offer the local community.
I second this. Outdoor velodromes are rare and historic and every possible thing should be done to return them to their original state and use (that is a proper surface for cycling).
Congratulations Claire on your election!

As a side note you might want to join the group Ideas for Adelaide and use it as a forum for things that you find interesting.
