Comment by Wilson Devo on March 23, 2013 at 15:05 In addition to wearing an emergency identification wristband and/or dog tag, riders are encouraged to create a new contact in the address book of their mobile phones with the name of "ICE".
The new "ICE" entry should contain the phone number of a family member or close friend to contact in the event of an accident. Additional information such as blood type or allergies could also be listed.
Alternatively, a rider can list multiple emergency contacts as "ICE1", "ICE2" etc.
Note: The effectiveness of the "ICE" contact may be limited by mobile phone screen locks, battery charge states and the ability of someone to navigate the rider's mobile phone menu system and it should be considered as a backup scheme only.

Don't let this happen to you !
Comment by Dianne Day (nee Sander) on March 19, 2013 at 13:04 Wilson those websites are fantastic. As soon as my man gets home today we will be putting in ICE orders. I hope you don't mind, I shared the great info with the Trikings group & another group Miss Cindy McDougall has going. It's so important! 3 years ago a group of 6 of us realised just how important this is the hard way ... on that day we were just lucky that one of the friends we were with didn't have a lock on his phone & I had to go looking through all his personal notes to establish the correct contacts ... very sad times. On the positive our friends all survived that day & we all still ride.
