i'm glad it's happened. all road users should obey all the rules.

+1. Share the road and obey the laws.

This cyclist was speeding in a school zone and the officer gave him the same treatment as any other road user.

A very proud moment for said cyclist.

maybe there was a strava segment titled "school crossing sprint" :P

would you joke about it RD6 if he did that speed outside your kids school and hit him as he was leaving ?? dont think so being hit at that speed by a bike would cause some serious injurys.

Col - just take it as light hearted joke, and do that sprint after school hours or on weekends. It comes down to common sense especially around a school zone during school hours. It is like the rule where we are allowed to ride two abreast some roads are not safe to do so but you see some cyclists who still do it just because they can. I guess in a perfect world we would all be considerate, polite and do the right thing and share the road. I live in hope

you must have left your funny bone on the other side of the bed Colin!!

Jokes aside - that is a crazy speed to be doing through something like a school crossing.

Cyclist deserves what he got and thankfully no one was hurt.

Hopefully the story may help some motorists recognise cyclists are road users too and face the same penalties if caught breaking road rules.

He should have had his bike crushed, thats hooning and something like that happened at my daughters school.

The little prick hit a Pram on other side of roundabout and a lady hit him with her umbrella.

He is a stupid frigging prick for fanging around like that where kids are! Perhaps evena future prime minister, what was he thinking?

+1 I couldn't agree more Frank.
With a bit of luck he might even lose his licence.

GOOD GOOD. There should be more of it and more advertising that dud cyclists are getting caught. Might help the motorist who think cyclist get away with everything -speeding, failing to give way etc  to calm down a little.

I never knew cyclists could get caught either...

Glad that this is highlighting that we are all road users and all should abide by the road rules!

I wonder if he had a speedo on his bike.

And i wonder if he was overtaking cars doing 40.

Being in Sydney i would predict he was riding with the flow of traffic.

Almost everyone speeds in Sydney and the police are usually nowhere to be seen.

Politicians are promising to remove speed cameras in order to win votes.
