Work started on Unley Cycle path between Leader St and Sth Rds

As i did my very slow get-back-into-riding-after-injuring-knee ride today, along the Mike Turtur veloway, i saw many workmen clearing trees, debris and what-not along the Norman Tce side of the Tram line.

I approached them and inquired as to the work and they said 'Yes' it was the cycle path, 'Yes' it will be next the the tram fence (ie not, simply a painted line on the road) and 'Yes' they were hoping to keep most of the trees along the gutter, but 'Yes' were removing the other trees/bushes.

I thanked them and siad i was looking forward to seeing their progress - 3mths they said  - just in time for summer :)

Have they started/completed anymore of the path (i cant find where musgrave(?) rd is); and if so - whats it like? Has it good lighting?

I rode up the tramway path on Saturday. lots of evidence of where the lights will go such as concrete foundations in for the light poles but no lights as yet
Musgrave St is just East of Goodwood Rd
View Larger Map This is the path that is called the West Unley Commuter Route and is where they are currently putting in better lighting. When I rode it at night some time ago it was pretty atrocious, but I will hold my tongue until I see what the new lights are like. I have not used that path at night in a long time, instead preferring to use the path from Morphett St to Goodwood Rd and then the path along the back of the Showgrounds to Leader St and then through to East Ave from there. It is much better lit.
