I heard about this web app from friends in Melbourne: http://bikebingle.appspot.com/?tab=add

It's an application based on google maps that lets you log where you've had bike bingles, when they were, and what they were caused by (i.e. road hazards, drivers failing to stop, etc.). I reckon it's cool cos it lets you see where the danger spots are. Could even provide some fuel for cycling advocates to take to the people in charge..

Well. So far the only recorded bike bingle in Adelaide is the one I had yesterday(!) so perhaps others could add their bingles in and we'll get a picture of where the black spots are in Adelaide for cyclists?

Errrrm....is there an option entitled something like "me being a f*@kwit"

Riley, I have started an AC group of Look For Cyclists. Have added info and will add more when I find time. Trying to encourage AC members to join and post there. When there is sufficient data, my aim is for cyclists and organisations to use it to advocate for improved cycling conditions. Why don't you check out Look For Cyclists?

Your bingle today occurred, from what I understand, due to a poor road surface while road changes are made. The location of this type of cycling hazard will change over time, as will potholes due to wear and tear. The ongoing danger sites will be due to poor road design, road congestion leading to driver impatience, etc.

For some time I have been reporting hazards to the appropriate authorities. Includes cycling, pedestrian, road, environment and other. I sent you an email asking you to urgently provide me with the exact location of your fall today, so I can inspect and contact some Prospect Councillors before the council meeting tomorrow that starts at 6.15pm.

I also suggest that you read my post of today re compilation of details of which authority to contact and how regarding cycling hazards. http://www.adelaidecyclists.com/forum/topics/river-torrens-linear-park
