What to do with your old chains.
Make jewellery
I had to replace my chain on the weekend and I was wondering what I could use the old chain for.
After a bit of contemplation I broke the chain down into its individual components, added some leather lacing and clips I was going to use for some paracord bracelets and came up with the following.
Having made these has anyone got some unwanted used chains?

My son actually bought a chainmail shirt made with aluminium rings and it weighed several kilos - I'd hate to wear one made of steel as it would weigh a ton

At the Sunbury Rock Festival (where we went for our honeymoon - 1974) there was a bloke wearing a vest made out of the ring-pull tops (remember those?) from drink tins.
