So who has their man cave already set up so they can retreat to watch the Tour? Any suggestions as what are the must have items? remember this shin dig lasts 3 weeks so what is required to watch in absolute comfort? Please include pictures :)

I'm lucky , I have a wife who can pretty well sleep through anything (including my 74 db snoring :) ) . I'll still be stuck out in the lounge with my fluffy sheltie keeping my warm.

A mate of mine wrote this pre-Giro

and later had this published:

maybe they will help with preparations to watch the tour :)

CLP and I usually curl up on the couch and try to prevent each other sleeping (not that succesfully). But I had this brilliant idea a couple of years ago that we should combine severe sleep deprevation with copious amounts of cooking, food and friends and thus instigated the annual French Feast (I might have also recieved a few french cook books and watched too much Food Safari). So for one night of the tour we have a house full of friends and food (way too much food) and we educate (torture) any non-cyclist with explanations of how cyclists deal with bodily functions while racing! Thankfully we have lots of friends who are either/both mad keen cyclists and crazy and awesome cooks, so we end up with awesome food like a Paris-Brest pastry and French apple pie, as well as stapples like French onion soup and beef bourginon (my english spelling is bad enough, my French is terrible!). So not only is the tour 3 weeks of cycling awesomness, it also means one wonderful night of awesome friends and food! No man cave required!

I looked for your event but can't see it? ;)
From the 30th of June heather.

Cadel Evans docco on SBS this weekend too! Not posting the day, too scared I may get it wrong.

Frank, found it on the web under SBS. First stage on Saturday 30-Jun-2012 from 10pm. Runs for 22 days.

I live alone so My whole house is a man cave / bomb zone .
I will asume my normal viewing position ,,lying on the 3 seater ,with lap- top on the coffee table within reach & TV  behind & to oneside .
The only changes to my normal routine will be some nanna naps to give me better legs for the wee hours . Oh yeh & I might even buy some French red ,despite my huge stock of beautiful Aussie reds.
GO CADEL , Go ! Go ! Go !

Lots of coffee.

"Man Cave" ????? Epale, some assumptions goin' on there!

Our household TDF room will have the couch, lotsa blankets and cushions, the oil heater, bidons, and sesame wheat crackers, I'm addicted to them. We'll probably have another reading of Ianto Ware's "21 Nights in July". Jeremy bought several copies of the book 2 years ago, so we can keep lending it out to friends (male and female!)

Yup....man cave as its usually referred too....I didnt coin the term....The Yanks call it a Den so I believe....your welcome to refer to the room of frivolous activity by whatever you like :)

It is also often the room of frivolous inactivity.
