Seen these on ebay from time to time.....

Thanks Rob. they come up a bit on the bay but am trying to get one locally. Freight on a single rim can be a killer from OS.

They are a nice tough rim...personally I really like Mavic Open Pros as they lookvsweet on any resto project and ride really nice too. Mavic still make these and easily available through Mega Bike in Hyde Park

yeah I use open pros on my other roadie. I have an MA40 still built up from the early 90s that I want to match up for my other bike.

I might be remembering incorrectly, but I think Road Rage Cycles on Payneham Rd has great prices on Mavic wheels. Might be worth ducking in there to see What Brian has at what price?

I have a NOS 36H if you can use another hub

No can do sorry. Thanks for the offer

Sorry I can't actually help you because I'm in the same situation insofar as I have and old

Alberto Masi (with MA40's) that I've been riding on and off for about thirty years. I recently broke a spoke

and am trying to find somebody who'll do a re-spoke without trying to sell me a new wheel

or new bike. Any suggestions?

I can do it....

I probably even have vintage butted NOS spokes to match!

Hi Gemma K,

Thanks for your offer. I need to declare that I'm an imposter on this forum insofar as I just joined today

and I'm not a real bike rider. I've just got this old bike that I brought (new) because I loved it and and only ride

for fun and when I can (sort of for a modicum of fitness) I'm still using a 80's shirt and would like to keep

the bike period authentic because it's part of my history. That said I'd be happy to get some help and quite

happy to pay if I could find somebody sympathetic to that notion.

If you are such a person how do I make contact. Is there a private messaging system on this forum?

Kind regards,

John

You are a real bike rider, because you ride a real bike, even if only sometimes.
