I reckon this is a very undervalued skill. Why was it the only thing from BikeRadar's newsletter that caught my eye today?

Heaps useful skill - even when riding in the city for popping up on curbs.

I saw a guy doing this very thing for about 200m down Hindley St yesterday.

Dont try that with your new Lightweight wheels.

Oh, I was just about to pop out on my Cevelo, and give it a go !   :)

Nope, still can't do a wheelie on my bike.  It can be done on a longtail

but my bikes even longer...

Simon

another good one is the track stand.

bunny hop get my vote.

I have hoped over wash outs at the bottom of a downhill more than once.

All these tricks teach balance and control that ate useful things to practice

I had a recent race in Kingston SE and there was a Drain running across the road that had to be "negotiated". At around 40km/hr. the bunny hope seemed to do the trick! God bless dura ace c50's.
