And a snap:

One of the guys at the Adelaide Bike Kitchen built up one of those obscurities. They're great fun to ride and a hell of a lot easier to keep balance one, I was riding no handed my first try.

I hopped on with a running start, followed by a five second climb up the frame. If you don't make it up in time you hop off and start again. At the stops he would either lean against one of us or pull up next to the light post, sometimes he would be forced to lean against a car.

I'm considering building one of my own.

EDIT: They're called tall bikes.

I was thinking some foot pegs like thy use on BMX bikes would be handy but they aren't fitted

I think that's what they used on penny farthings as well

Idiot is not wearing a helmet - it's a legal requirement when skydiving (or dismounting).......just a laugh.

He's got a helmet under that beanie.

That bike reminds me of trying out my dads when I was a kid. Started by launching off from the garden wall and stopped by falling over.

Michael

you don't have to in Copenhagen

I hate to be logical but WHY springs to mind.

To throw logic to the window!

It's like asking why ride a unicycle, for the hell of it!

They are so much fun.

Climbing mountains would be in the same category...

+1!!
