I remember some one posting about picking up old tyres for use. If anyone's interested I have a few old tyres that I'm willing to give away. Reasonable tread on a few.

That was Michael Warner I think but it might just have been tubes. Whats worse, rubber or lycra fetish?
That was me - are they 700x23c? I actually posted about wanting patchable ones - if these aren't cut, someone less financial should have first dibs.
They're all 26" MTB tyres. Some tubeless ones and some from before I had tubeless systems. My other idea is to donate them to the community workshop if that's ready?
Haven't heard anything on that front for a while, but any bike recycling program would be able to use them, and surely someone here can put you in touch.
Contact Mike Brisco, Bikes for Refugees, he is a member of AC, they will probably be of use to him, he lives in Campbelltown.
Im looking out for some 26in hybrid style tyres, not sure of the rim size, smaller than the usal mtb rims.
Yes, Bikes for Refugees is a great idea.

They are having a garage sale next weekend but Mike always needs good spares for bike he repairs and gives away. The garage sale is to move some bikes and raise some funds.
