Forecast tomorrow is 25 degrees, so a nice day to cycle. AC has 2,300+ members. How many of you will be cycling tomorrow between 7am and 9am?
Some of us are counting bicycles / cyclists which will give an indication of how many cycle where. I hope the other members will be on their bikes and give us a wave.
Counting taking place in Cities of Adelaide, Charles Sturt and West Torrens. Three BUG members will be down at the beach. Three other BUG members are counting but I do not know their locations. (BUG as in Adelaide & Prospect.)

Didn't count many this morning, though it was a relaxing morning near the beach....
Permalink Reply by Sophia MacRae on March 6, 2012 at 9:12 I was on the Linear Park path, on the City of Charles Sturt side of the Port Rd Hindmarsh bridge.
Nice day for it :-) Glad I didn't have to stand on Port Rd!
I counted 33 riding west, and 119 riding east.
cheers,
Permalink Reply by Trevor Hill on March 6, 2012 at 9:20 I counted on Tapleys Hill Rd just south of Harbour Town. 20 bikes passed in the 2 hours. 15 in the first hour. 5 in the second hour. 2 female cyclist, 18 male cyclist. 19 commuter cyclist, with back pack of panniers. 1 road cyclist.
Permalink Reply by heather on March 6, 2012 at 9:25 Trevor, precise. I did not have time to distinguish male from female in groups wearing lycra.
Permalink Reply by Trevor Hill on March 6, 2012 at 9:34 The going was pretty slow so I was even writing down the times they passed by to amuse myself. The longest time between cyclist's was 42 minutes. Only 4 of the 20 used the on road bike lane, the rest used the off road bike track. Most of the commuters wore ordinary clothing not cycle specific.
Permalink Reply by heather on March 6, 2012 at 9:46 The Super Tuesday Count entry does not cater for that precision but wonder if the West Torrens Council would be interested, especially that the off road bike track is more popular. The email address is csu@wtcc.sa.gov.au

Permalink Reply by Trevor Hill on March 6, 2012 at 15:15 Mate, and I thought my site was bad with 20!
11 for me also, and the last one was at 8.59am.....
Permalink Reply by heather on March 6, 2012 at 9:30 Womble, might have been near your site. At the intersection of Seaview and Henley Beach Roads. About 50 went through 6.45-7am before counting started. About 100 between 7-8am, slowed between 8am-8.30am, then slowed even more. In total 148. Largest group of 26.
Maurice counted 70 at the intersection of Henley Beach Road and The Esplanade. Joan counted 43 at the intersection of The Esplanade and Henley Beach Square. I would have expected a close tally for these 2 sites.
I was at the intersection of Jetty St and the Esplanade at Grange. Guessing the intention was to gauge the use of the seperated bike/pedestrian path, but the bicycle traffic was minimal, only just managed to crack double figures.
