Hi, unfortunately I witnessed yet another novice cyclists come to some considerable grief down the bay today. Wheel of her flat bar fell into the tram tracks, and she hit the deck quite hard-hope her collar bone is ok - would need a scan I think.

The Marion/Holdfast BUG has previously asked for simple signs to be sprayed on the road as you enter and leave the bay "cyclists-watch out for tram tracks" but they say too many signs there already-so no go. All I can say is - careful guys anywhere near the tram tracks, cya, pedro

I will look forward to him giving the same grief to motorists who complain about cyclists as he does to our politicians!

Matt Abrahams (@kevcorduroy) has just notified me by Twitter that they are doing a follow up to last week's story about 'collarbone corner' at Jetty Rd, Glenelg with the Mayor to see if they can find a solution.

Spence will be down there from 0645 so if you want to do a spekky for radio and hit the rails to demonstrate for radio that'd be a good time to do it.

The operative word is careful. I live and shop near the bay, and I 'jump the tram tracks , especially near the centre traam stop. There is no choice there apart from dismounting.. Be careful people !

Simple fix, wheelchair type ramp either end and a bit of paint or and some  "stand behind line" markings to keep tram etc passengers a metre back.
Cyclists would have to be patient when trams are boarding etc. no major drama to install.
We already have our quota of spin from all the councils and other authorities on what is going to be improved and installed, lets just get on with it and actually do something.

Ramp example and possible location position ?
