We got a sports package when it was on special so the lad could watch the A-league and the Socceroos, so wasn't I pleased to discover all the cycling (pretty much every night at the moment) and the darts :)

Indeed Shav ! What a steep finish @ the end of 152 kms of racing .
Talking about tough  , what about the Bulgarian winner , Gabroski ? He was still riding away from everyone  as he crossed the line .

I agree. He was a machine up hills. It looked like he had more in the tank half way up that hill. Well done to him. I don't think camera pictures give a clear idea of the slope these guys are facing.

I'll be interested to see how he goes today - probably the Lantern Rouge (or whatever the tail gunner is called in Turkey). Massive effort from him though. That fast attack. There were times when his pedalling technique started to fail and he was just fighting the pedals but he got it back on song again. A ride to remember.

For the record, on the stage after his massive hill climb, Gabroski was up front and up to his tricks again - no, he didn't get away with it this time but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Just beat me to it Michael. The telecast on the dreaded fox ends at 9:30 so, no waiting up late, put the kids to bed, service the bike, pour a mug of port and enjoy the racing.

BTW, they've adjusted the finishing gap from last night's stage - Renshaw beat Goss by 0.0003 sec - yes, I've got the correct number of zeros. Cripes, if Gossy had ridden through some mud just before the line, HE'd have won. That sort of margin is just silly, it was a dead heat.

How about yesterdays stage 4 ? Mark Renshaw  1st , Matt Goss 2nd .. A great result for the Aussies, I'm disappointed I didn't stay up & watch it .I think there might be some video of it on SBS Cycling Central website ,, I'll have to check it out ..
