Tour de Clare 2012 - Ride report
We met, we rode, we ate, drank, slept and rode back. We had a hoot!
Weather was perfect, tailwind on the way home.
Thanks to an awesome bunch of blokes to ride with and support crew to boot.
Till the same time next year...........!

Glad to hear you had such a good time of it, albeit a very detail-sparse report. No photos? Anyone take even a single photo?

"a very detail-sparse report" Well im actually amazed that AVO got the ride report up already. We all said our goodbyes roughly about 3.40 pm at the fountain and rode our separate ways. This also being said...im pretty sure AVO wrote this up quicky so that everyone knows a certain portion of detail, and yet more shall follow(probably..).
Well, MR. crook as chook made it home, and is feeling like a man who had a massive drinking session on the town. Im a bit dizzy, but soon enough ill Harden the "insert deutch word here" and be out riding like my ol self again and will try to forget the personal miseries and hardships i went through on this ride, but not forget the ride...just all the BS. LOL :P

An absolutely terrific couple days. Weather was organized and helped us on the way home. A big (make that huge) thanks for AVO for organizing the ride and to Sue for being the support we needed. She even happened to have perfect timing for Richards flat as she drove past, it was like we had our own Tour De France crew. The moderate speed train of Richard, Michael and myself worked perfectly together each taking our turn and keeping a great pace. Well done to everyone who combined to make this a most memorable trip.

Good bunch ,, Good crew ,, Great Ride..
Saturday night was a scene of total pizza devastation !! They came @ us in huge numbers,assorted varieties & in intimidating sizes, but with the back up of Chewy, they were totally annihilated (almost).A grand effort after the Subways, chips , and pasta dishes as starters ..

A big thanks to you Rob for "pacing" me up to a good/reasonable Average speed, albeit the battle that it was. Its great to have friends like these, and lets never drift too far away, ey?
I also wouldnt have gone through with this in my silly condition if it wasnt for Sue looking out for us by not only carrying our baggages to and fro but also the fact she carried 30 lts of water and staminade which made alot of us suprised in a good way. Thanks Sue, also for looking out for me(Yeah i saw you every now and then looking over at me....when i was choking my brains out!) and everyone else. That was a hoot.
I could not force myself to sleep-in on Saturday, I told myself i was as healthy as a OX... as for me good ol mate Rob(Chewy) would be there and also Peter from GWs who i told about the ride, so i couldnt miss it or id never of forgiven myself. Good to see Derek earlier on for the ride into Gawler, and a big thanks to AVO (who is another reason why i couldnt "not go" as for i felt id let him down if i did not) for making sure I didnt bail out and jump on a train near gawler and kept me going mentally, he even slowed up a bit on the SOB to check i didnt bail or something. Cheers for that. Till next year...or next ride, Adios amigos.
