Page 7 of the advertiser today (11/5/2011) has the potential alternative prime minister looking very solemn.
In the article it suggests that when he is the boss things will be different.
In the background of the photo it shows a bike assuming it is Tony's bike and not a ring in to fit with his image what does it say?
The bike is parked in his office.
Could it be that after over ten years of a Liberal government and a good period of a Labor government that nether major political can organise a project like reasonable bike parking at parliament house?
If they cant organise a bike rack what can they organise?

Permalink Reply by Derek Hasel on May 12, 2012 at 20:06 It would appear Pyne does a lot of that !

and the advice on various pages is
Parking
There is a large underground car park beneath the Forecourt of the building—three hour time limit —is available for the use of visitors.
There are also surface car park areas for visitors located between Parliament House and the rear of Old Parliament House .
Parking spaces for bicycles are also available in these areas.
Parking is free of charge.
Not sure if that is specifically for the public or MPs.
My cynical reason for the Mad Monk putting his bike in his office is so we can all see it when he is filmed.
Much as I dislike the mad monk I would suggest that there probably aren't any secure individual bike lockers in the house and that his bike is precious to him and of course he does seem to have a rather large office. Of course he may well get some kind of look at me look at me perverse satisfaction wheeling his steed through the corridors of power.
Permalink Reply by David B.o.R. on May 12, 2012 at 21:11 I used to work in and cycle to SA Parliament House. It had pretty good bike parking and changing/showering facilities. I'm pretty sure that the Parliament in Canberra would be well provided for vis cycling parks. Perhaps Tony just doesn't trust people? You know what they say about people who do not trust others - they can't be trusted themselves.

Perhaps he feels someone would slash his tyres!
