New Logo
I've got three things coming. I'll expand on each of them as time goes on but the main one is to introduce the new Adelaide Cyclists logo. Thanks to the Three Blind Mice designers and sponsors that help me get some funds to work on this and some other up and coming things. Voila!
Not too much to say about it really except I'll integrate it into the site soon. I was thinking about a bit of a design overhaul but decided I need to work with some designers some more and not rush it. If it's not broke... 'n all that.
If you want to use the logo on your jersey, blog etc then drop me a line and I'll send a high rez version. It's also in 'mono' (while or black).
Winter kit
I'll give all the specs of this in a week or so when it's available to buy but I'll say they are all really great quality, fit, warm and at a really great price. The idea was to produce something simple that you can wear to extend the time those of you who have Adelaide Cyclists summer kit can wear it.
The jersey on left ($45 in post) is Thermo Roubaix fabric with 2 rear pockets, reflective stitching, printing and rear strip. The jacket ($75 post inc), also in red with black sides, is a windproof soft shell fabric with super roubaix inner sleeves and sides for venting. Two zippered inward angled rear pockets and reflective printing (on the black version). The warmers ($22 in post) are windcheating HeatPro fabric. More soon.
Community winter group ride series.
Over winter I am hosting a series of 6 monthly group rides while the calendar is a bit less busy ending before Amy's Ride. The dates are subject to possibly change but they will be:
20 May, 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 16 Sept, 14 October
Mostly they will be on the flat meeting at Bocelli's in the city and picking up at Glenelg. Details to come but it'll just be a ride and coffee and a way to keep motivated in the cooler weather.
Thanks everyone for your great input lately. Here's to winter!
Permalink Reply by G Ward on April 16, 2012 at 0:33 New logo has some nice class to it - well done, but what's with all the black for the kit ? The last thing I want to be wearing when I'm riding is something that's predominantly black, especially during the darker months of winter (I thought the summer kit had too much black for my liking). I'm amazed (in a bad way) when I'm out on the roads (on a bike or in a car) at how many bike riders are wearing black kit and how invisible they are. I've seen some really nice looking kit over the years but I simply couldn't bring myself to buy it for exactly this reason.
Permalink Reply by John Fiorentino on April 17, 2012 at 20:04 I agree with Christopher, Gus, the new logo looks great and is quite colourful but the logo colours don't stand out that well on black, and yes more bright coloured jerseys is the go... how about on a light blue jersey......good job on the logo although I didn't mind the old one.... .

I wonder about the wisdom of so much black. Black makes us invisible on the road, especially on dull days, or even sunny days on roads with dappled tree shade, or at night.

Maybe put some reflection stripes on the new kit, that is what I miss on most of the bike clothes.
Make it look cool and safe Gus.
