New Logo
I've got three things coming. I'll expand on each of them as time goes on but the main one is to introduce the new Adelaide Cyclists logo. Thanks to the Three Blind Mice designers and sponsors that help me get some funds to work on this and some other up and coming things. Voila!
Not too much to say about it really except I'll integrate it into the site soon. I was thinking about a bit of a design overhaul but decided I need to work with some designers some more and not rush it. If it's not broke... 'n all that.
If you want to use the logo on your jersey, blog etc then drop me a line and I'll send a high rez version. It's also in 'mono' (while or black).
Winter kit
I'll give all the specs of this in a week or so when it's available to buy but I'll say they are all really great quality, fit, warm and at a really great price. The idea was to produce something simple that you can wear to extend the time those of you who have Adelaide Cyclists summer kit can wear it.
The jersey on left ($45 in post) is Thermo Roubaix fabric with 2 rear pockets, reflective stitching, printing and rear strip. The jacket ($75 post inc), also in red with black sides, is a windproof soft shell fabric with super roubaix inner sleeves and sides for venting. Two zippered inward angled rear pockets and reflective printing (on the black version). The warmers ($22 in post) are windcheating HeatPro fabric. More soon.
Community winter group ride series.
Over winter I am hosting a series of 6 monthly group rides while the calendar is a bit less busy ending before Amy's Ride. The dates are subject to possibly change but they will be:
20 May, 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 16 Sept, 14 October
Mostly they will be on the flat meeting at Bocelli's in the city and picking up at Glenelg. Details to come but it'll just be a ride and coffee and a way to keep motivated in the cooler weather.
Thanks everyone for your great input lately. Here's to winter!
I like the slogan Adelaide Cyclists for everyone who rides a bike in Adelaide, SA - it boldly puts them pesky northern varmints from up Gawler way in their place. Only Jokin
Permalink Reply by Allan (RAVAGE) on April 16, 2012 at 22:17 I personally like the old logo, Id prefer predominate red over black, as winter days are usually dark and overcast.....
Having been knocked off my bike by an idiot motorist, Im more safety concious....
Good work!
Great work Gus really appreciate all the time and effort that you put into this. You rock! (or should that be roll?) Love the logo and the kit is fab :-)
Permalink Reply by hozozco on April 17, 2012 at 9:41 I've worked it out - the logo looks like a g-string (probably only to me though)!
Seriously, nice logo. The gears meme is great.
The black kit also looks great (black is very slimming for people like me), but I'm going to hold out for something in 'invisible' yellow. Yes, at night I'm lit up like a Christmas tree and it wouldn't matter very much but during the day the 'invisible' yellow should be better than black!
Plenty of commuters here - lets have a kit for them too!

All Awesome :)
Permalink Reply by Shav Bird on April 17, 2012 at 11:34 I would be happy with the red one with black inserts from a visually impacting point of view. Do they have reflective accents for night time riding?

Permalink Reply by Baron Zuraw on April 17, 2012 at 15:15 nice logo - looks great!
Permalink Reply by Baron Zuraw on April 17, 2012 at 15:18 The kit is too black for my liking... prefer a little colour on those fresh mornings. Being use to the northern hemisphere weather, thermo roubaix is too hot for me. I think I've worn my winter jacket once here in 3 years and after an hour of riding that came off! I thought Aussies were hard :p
Well done Gus, logo looks fantastic, clothing looks like quality items, like others I will be going for the brighter colour versions.
Permalink Reply by Mike H on April 17, 2012 at 15:41 Agree with the previous posters. Black is bad news on a bike. Asking for trouble. Even red is not that visible compared to white and yellow. I can hear people shrieking " but it looks cool ". Fine. I'd rather be safe and alive, than cool and dead.
