New Logo
I've got three things coming. I'll expand on each of them as time goes on but the main one is to introduce the new Adelaide Cyclists logo. Thanks to the Three Blind Mice designers and sponsors that help me get some funds to work on this and some other up and coming things. Voila!
Not too much to say about it really except I'll integrate it into the site soon. I was thinking about a bit of a design overhaul but decided I need to work with some designers some more and not rush it. If it's not broke... 'n all that.
If you want to use the logo on your jersey, blog etc then drop me a line and I'll send a high rez version. It's also in 'mono' (while or black).
Winter kit
I'll give all the specs of this in a week or so when it's available to buy but I'll say they are all really great quality, fit, warm and at a really great price. The idea was to produce something simple that you can wear to extend the time those of you who have Adelaide Cyclists summer kit can wear it.
The jersey on left ($45 in post) is Thermo Roubaix fabric with 2 rear pockets, reflective stitching, printing and rear strip. The jacket ($75 post inc), also in red with black sides, is a windproof soft shell fabric with super roubaix inner sleeves and sides for venting. Two zippered inward angled rear pockets and reflective printing (on the black version). The warmers ($22 in post) are windcheating HeatPro fabric. More soon.
Community winter group ride series.
Over winter I am hosting a series of 6 monthly group rides while the calendar is a bit less busy ending before Amy's Ride. The dates are subject to possibly change but they will be:
20 May, 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 16 Sept, 14 October
Mostly they will be on the flat meeting at Bocelli's in the city and picking up at Glenelg. Details to come but it'll just be a ride and coffee and a way to keep motivated in the cooler weather.
Thanks everyone for your great input lately. Here's to winter!

Permalink Reply by Matt "Boz" on April 16, 2012 at 9:53 I like how a lot of people are obsessed about not wearing black at night - the new red blinking led lights will sure show up better before any light coloured or reflective clothing will - and they cost very little - so you can have several on the bike and one on your helmet if you are so worried.
Permalink Reply by Sophia MacRae on April 16, 2012 at 10:13 Sure, in fact it can be easier to see a cyclist at night if we are using good lights... it's the daytime SMIDSY's (Sorry Mate I Didn't See You) that are a concern. Mind you, I'll often be out riding in ordinary clothes, rather than anything cycling related or hi-viz, and I then rely on defensive/assertive riding (depending on circumstance) and presuming that I am invisible.
Angus noted that the jacket is available in red. And they come with reflective strips.
New logo looks great. I will miss the "I *bike* ADL" though!

I will look at some other colour LS jerseys and gillets with reflective stripes. As I say the jersey and jacket has got reflective elements and the jacket is in red with black side panels. This current batch I will have soon. I can offer other stuff but it will take 3 weeks or so. I'll do that when I put all of this up officially. Did I mention it comes from the house of Craft, Endura, Louis Garneau and Hincappie?

Permalink Reply by Simon Lownsborough on April 16, 2012 at 13:32 Well done, nice design Gus.
+1 to the kit and the winters rides also.
I am a bit "Radiohead" about the logo - what was Gus thinking with the new album?
After getting over the initial shock, and thinking it is possibly the worst set of songs I have ever heard, in some quieter moments, quite unsuspectedly the new single comes on the radio, and I distractedly groove along with it. Breaking out of my stupor, I drag myself back to reality, and steel myself to hate it for letting it seep into my consciousness. But eventually it wins me over, and subsequently I can never understand why I didn't like it in the first place. Mind you I love and will always love "Creep".
