I rode in from the Parade Kensington this morning around 8:30 ands I was unpleasantly surprised to see someone riding their scooter down the footpath on the Parade at Kensington for about 500 m just before Portrush Rd.
I continued riding into town muttering to myself about the idiocy of some people and I noticed something that more than made up for the motor cycle rider. Several cars stopped on Bartels Rd and held up peak hour traffic while some ducks finished crossing the road.

Permalink Reply by heather on May 10, 2011 at 19:23 The bad. At 5.55pm today I was almost hit by a driver who stopped at a stop sign, then turned right without indicating. I was walking from my neighbour's to home. Yelled, "indicator, indicator", and pointing. The driver stopped just in time to avoid hitting me, wound down his window a fraction so I could hear his, "shut up", then drove off. I did not get his registration number, but shortly afterwards, wished I had.
I was walking on a bikedirect route. Just realised I was wearing my T-shirt of 'keep bicycle lanes'.

Permalink Reply by Sue on May 11, 2011 at 2:03 The Bad. Yesterday I had a motorcycle riding in the bike lane down Frome Rd approaching the Womens and Childrens Hospital. Although I was annoyed at having to slow for him, I wasn't too concerned, until he came to an uneccessary abrupt halt and tried to merge back into the stationary traffic. It appears he didn't want to pass the police car three places ahead.
Come to think of it I frequently encounter motorcycles on Frome Rd when approaching Melbourne street in both directions.
