TDU group ride

I am starting to think about putting together a group ride event during the Tour Down Under, stage 3 on Thursday looking like a good one, plenty of viewing with 6 laps around Aldgate, Stirling and Mylor plus KOM at Eagle on the Hill. Just wanting to gauge interest early on, if enough is shown will move forward and start organizing. Let me know your thoughts.

Hopefully I can request a day off work to follow this stage as it was fun last year...also a ride down to that Winery in Mclaren Vale was really fun too.

Sounds like a great idea. A number of us also went out with Andy from Bike Pure for a bit of a spin with some of our local young talent, which was a bit of fun.

The Cervo Rosso ride to the Salopian Inn McLaren Vale was great too, with some nice Vale Ale's on tap!

The ProCycling Tours Ride was great too, and there was a fantastic turn out for that, with lots of laughs, many of them provided by Brooke W attempting to break the land speed record on the main street of Aldgate, with the crowd cheering him on each time!

We're joining back in with the Challenge Ride next year too, and are thinking what we will do is ride out to Modbury for the start, but then book Timeless Land Mini-Bus Hire to get us back to town after all of the excitement of the day has finished. This just seems to be an easier option for us, and means we can hang around for the presentations etc, without having to worry about riding back!

Sadly, we had a terrible accident at the Salopian when one of the team was run down by the support vehicle.

You know, thinking about the I think there is probably a place for a ride every day but this day in particular would till be the best being mid week, not the day before the BUPA and enough days after the RLC.

Agreed Gus ,, Thursday not to good for the Bupa riders ..

The ride is a great idea Torsten ,, I'll be in if I can swing time off work ? I haven't told them that I'm riding Bupa yet.

There seems to be a reasonable amount of interest so I better make sure I can the time off work (starting new job week after next) after which I'll add an event and see how we go from there. Not planning a massive slog so even for the BUPA riders it shouldn't take it out of them.
