For me, what made last night's telecast of a great 11th TdF stage even better, was that the commentary went straight to Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin, with the complete absence of Matthew Keenan.  Keenan spends half his time rabbiting on about something that happened years ago, while missing what is happening on the screen in front of us all. He seems to feel it necessary to burdon everyone with all the details that he has committed to memory, most of which is irrelevant to current proceedings.

Paul Sherwin's pick up of Phil Ligget's dulcet comments is to the point, and economical. I hope that SBS keeps this pattern for the rest of the tour.

seems they went to the others because they started a bit earlier.. we also missed out on gabriel gate talking about his many 'chizzes!'

Something is missing from this tour, i think its that without Hushovd, Liggett doesn't get to say God of Thunder at every available opportunity.

i love listening to Paul and Phil. They just have voices that make you want to sit up an notice.

I agree. The mute button gets used when Keenan is on.

I reckon the combination of the three of them works well .. Diversity is the spice of life and listening to 2 hrs + of any of them would bore me .

Two hours !  I get bored with Keenan after two minutes ! !

The only thing I find exciting about Sherwen, Liggett and Tomalaris is their propensity to say something completely stupid every now and again.  Matthew Keenan may be boring but his knowledge and research gets my respect, maybe he should be given a finish to call instead of the dead part of the stage.

I would like to see Jens Voigt take up commentary after his retirement !  Someone not afraid to call it like it really is.

Keenan gets the dead bit for good reason.
