Heya Dean ...

just wanted you to know even though you had to leave early, it didn't spare you getting in a photo .. ;)

cos we shot you at Jaspers.

When the sun went down last night and I wasn't sure what todays ride would present. It seemed logical to expect a repeat of yesterdays weather and with Olympics having started I was a bit scared the ride might have fizzed. I didn't look into the computer for status before leaving home, so when I arrived at Prices it was good to see plenty of bikes and riders.

Below: Werner, Geof,  Roger, Arthur, Graham & Kevin

above: 6 in the pic + 3 riders not in the shot..  total 9 riders

Regrouping just  before Gawler

Good on you Geof .. Isn't that last hill memorable? ... nuff said

So the ride report part. Today was pretty much flat all the way There was no rain, no wind, no burning hot sun and no punctures .. we all finished what we came out to do so I think it all wraps up as another excellent ride.

Great first ride with the Gully Grinders today. Was quite a long effortless run, until time to climb back up to Golden Grove. I had to get a move on as time was getting away as I had to make another meeting in the afternoon. Not sure if we all went the same way at the end but I ended up climbing Wynn Vale drive to get back to the top. After 70km on the flat this really tested me. Carl, I appreciated your offer of bailing early and giving me a lift to get back quicker but I am glad I declined, I just had to climb that hill. It made yesterday's ride of Yorketown road and Cornishmens hill seem easy now. I really enjoyed the social ride and I take my hat off to you Geof and Graham for completing it on mountain bikes. Well organized Roger.
Cheers
Kev

we didn't climb Wynn Vale drive today. Time was getting away and I though I'd try an easier route so we can offer different return options on the rides. Think about Michael living near Wynn Vale and it being part of every ride .. every day.

btw extra Kudos to you for climbing it on standard gearing

Yes, Michael showed me the way and he certainly looked like a natural climbing the hill (Don't tell anyone but I did actually get off my bike twice) Will look at investigating the gearing, I think there is something in that.
Whats no wind. There was a slight wind. I was struggling to keep 30km/h. Great route Gully Grinders. I will have to pull out the hill on the commute this week in time for the attack on the BUPA route.
